OrchStack is the company. At its core is OrchKernel: one kernel between every agent and everything it touches.

Why we exist

Agents can act now. Someone has to be in charge.

Agents email customers, issue refunds, change records and ship code. The moment they can act, every company needs to know who each agent acts for, and who said it could.

We build OrchKernel to answer that for every agent and every action. Agents propose. Rules decide. The kernel applies.

Our story

The company and the software

Today OrchStack is the company and the team. OrchKernel is the software we build: the operating system for an AI-native company, source-available and self-hosted.

OrchStack is founded by Santosh Patidar. He has spent years building software that runs real operations for businesses, and started OrchStack when agents began to act inside those systems: someone has to decide what an agent may do, and be able to prove what it did. OrchStack is based in India and works with design partners worldwide.

OrchStack (orchstack.ai) is not affiliated with OrbStack (orbstack.dev), the Docker and Linux development tool.

How we build

People stay in charge

People decide what matters, and agents do the rest. An agent never has more than the person it acts for.

Prove it

What an agent did should be checkable by anyone. Every event is chained to the one before, and any run can be replayed.

Source-available under the Business Source License 1.1. Each version becomes Apache-2.0 four years after it is first published.
